Chattanooga FC Falls to Georgia Revolution FC 4-2

It was a night to forget in Finley Stadium as Chattanooga FC fell to Georgia Revolution FC 4-2 in front of the spirited, Chattahooligan faithful.

Georgia Revolution began the match pressing the home team, not allowing much space and forcing CFC into errant passes. The Revolution capitalized on two such occasions in the first half as Jumar Oakley scored in the 18th minute, followed 17 minutes later by a Rodrigo Goncalves goal which sent both teams into the locker room with a 2-0 score line.

The second half proved to be much more competitive as Chattanooga fought much harder and pressed further up the field. Although the home team looked better, they still managed to give away a third goal as Isaac Promise fought to put the ball in the back of the net. Suddenly, it was 3-0 with the Revolution still on top.

Chattanooga FC fought back, bringing back a goal in the 69th minute. Santi Moore scored a beautiful goal thanks, in part, to a magnificent service from Daniel Valenciano. The goal cut the lead to two, but minutes later, Georgia scored yet another goal as Alec Harlley put one past the keeper. Chattanooga FC scored again, almost immediately, thanks to a brilliant Charlie Clarke effort. However, in the end, the score proved to be insurmountable and ended at 4-2.

“We simply didn’t do enough to get the job done,” said Bill Elliott, CFC head coach. “Sure, the team is tired, but this time of year, everyone is tired. We’ve got to find ways to stay strong and not let these matches get out of hand. Luckily, we have another match on Wednesday so we’ll have a chance to put this one behind us.”
