GOLD AND REPUBLIC FC TO FACE OFF AGAIN IN PRESEASON FRIENDLY

Sacramento Gold FC will face fellow Capitol City club Sacramento Republic FC a preseason friendly on Saturday, February 10 at American River College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

“This match not only celebrates the top professional and amateur soccer talent in the Sacramento region,” said Sacramento Gold FC owner John Nunan, “but benefits an excellent American River College program that is a great partner to us both.”

This is the second straight year the Gold and Republic FC will meet in the preseason. Last year’s match also took place at American River College.

Both clubs will be looking to get off to a good start in 2018 and improve from last season’s results. The Gold narrowly missed out on a NPSL playoff berth, despite putting up the best defensive statistics in the Golden Gate Conference. Republic FC were knocked out of the USL playoffs in the Western Conference semifinals, though not before upsetting the conference’s top seed and regular season champion, Real Monarchs, in the first round.
