GREATER LOWELL LOSES TO BROOKLYN 3-0

On a near 100-degree day in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts Lowell was set to face off against the Brooklyn Italians.

Greater Lowell started strong, even getting a shot off early on. However, Brooklyn quickly adjusted and took over the game, keeping the vast majority of possession moving the ball around effortlessly. The Italians would strike first in the sixth minute as Rasmus Hansen, who was just inside of the Greater Lowell box, took a touch and put it side netting.

Because of the heat the referee would allow for a water break in the 22nd minute giving time for each team to rest and regroup.

After the break, Brooklyn would continue to dominate and in the 35th minute, Hansen would find the back of the net again off of a low cross, giving Brooklyn a 2-0 lead at the half.

Going into the second half, Lowell was looking forward to a chance to fight back, but Brooklyn was not about to let that happen. They continued to move the ball around, content with keeping the lead and getting out of Tyngsboro with the 2-0 win. However, a few breakdowns by Lowell led to opportunities, most of which were dealt with well by Lowell goalkeeper Cooper Hall.

In the 70th minute a Lowell foul just outside their penalty area proved too much to handle. Midfielder Adrien Huss stepped up to take the kick, bent the ball up, over the wall and just inside the near post, giving Brooklyn a 3-0 lead which they were able to hold until the end of the game.
