DAYTON DYNAMO FC DUEL LANCERS TO SCORELESS DRAW

Dayton Dynamo FC entered Friday night’s contest against the Rochester Lancers with a 3 point lead over the visitors in the NPSL Midwest Eastern Conference standings. Nothing would change after a scoreless draw at Roger Glass Stadium. Wasted opportunities proved to be the unfortunate theme for the Dynamo.

Dayton controlled possession and dictated play throughout much of the first half, but the Rochester defense would not yield a goal. Despite good ball movement in the opening minutes, the home side had difficulty breaking down the Lancers’ in the final third.

The best opportunity for the Dynamo in the first half came from the mark in the 40th minute when Tristan Lyle was tripped in the box. Lancers goalkeeper William Banahene guessed correctly, but it did not matter as Christopher Dupont’s effort hit the left post.

Chances started coming by the boatload for Dayton in the second half, but they were all squandered or turned away by Rochester. One of the biggest regrets of the night for the Dynamo was the inability to convert at least one of a multitude of corner kicks into a goal.

This was the first time in four home matches that Dayton has failed to earn all three points. The Dynamo will stay at home for a friendly against the Columbus Crew SC U23s on Thursday before hosting FC Buffalo in NPSL league play on Sunday.
