MARCELLE FRANCOIS SIGNS WITH THE GEORGIA REVOLUTION FC

The Georgia Revolution FC is under new ownership and is already making an impact on the NPSL with their first signing, Trinidad and Tobago star Marcelle Francois.

Francois has played professionally for three clubs in his home country and had the opportunity to participate in the CONCACAF Champions League with two of the teams. Most recently, he led Central FC to the Trinidad Tobago Pro League title, FCB Cup, Pro Bowl title, and the Caribbean Championship (CFU) in the 2014/15 season.  He played an outstanding tournament with Central FC in the CONCACAF Champions League against the LA Galaxy (USA) and Comunicaciones (Guatemala).  They drew 1-1 with the Galaxy and defeated Comunicaciones 1-0. Francois made his international debut for Trinidad Tobago with the Under-20 squad.  He started every match and helped lead the team to the final qualification phase for the Under-20 World Cup in 2005.

Marcelle collected eight caps, and registered one goal and two assists in the process.  His success soon earned him promotion to the Under-21 and Under-23 squad for the Pan American Games and Olympic Qualifiers respectively.  In 2007, he helped lead San Juan Jabloteh to the First Citizens Cup and league title, giving the club a berth in the CONCACAF Champions League.  His strong play earned a call-up to the Trinidad and Tobago Men’s National Team under Dutch legend Wim Rijsbergen.

A strong and fast utility player that possesses a great work rate, Francois is a leader on the field. He is a reliable and skillful player that can be deployed in a variety of positions.  He is nicknamed “Ox” due to his physical appearance and relentless style of play.
