The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce Chattanooga FC head coach Bill Elliott as the recipient of the 2016. Alexander Arellano Memorial Trophy. The award, given to the league’s top head coach, was voted on by NPSL teams throughout the country.  Elliott has won the Alexander Arellano Memorial Trophy an unprecedented three years in a row.

"We couldn't be more proud of the leadership Bill brings to the club,” Chattanooga FC General Manager Sean McDaniel remarked. “Each year he raises the standard for us and develops these young players into quality footballers.  He continues to set benchmarks, not only for the NPSL, but for all levels across the country.  His representation of Chattanooga FC brings us recognition from all over and we are extremely grateful for that."

Elliott also received the Alexander Arellano Memorial Trophy in 2014 and 2015 after leading Chattanooga to the national title games in both seasons.

In five seasons, Elliott has led Chattanooga FC to a 63-12-13 record, including four appearances in the national finals and most recently a national semifinal in 2016. The club has been one of the most dominant programs in the entire NPSL, claiming six conference titles (2010, 2012-2016) and three consecutive regional titles (2014-2016).

Under his expert tutelage, Chattanooga has appeared in the national title game four times.

"With so many talented coaches in the NPSL, I am deeply honored and genuinely surprised,” Elliott added.  “Many people are committed to making Chattanooga FC a success and I feel truly blessed that they have put me in a position to be the recipient of such a prestigious award."

Elliott has been an instrumental figure in the collegiate game as well, leading the University of West Florida Argonauts men’s soccer team for 20 seasons, and the UWF women’s team from 1995 to 2001.  As the leader of the UWF men’s team, Elliott has compiled a record of 231-105-35 (.623), and he led the Argos women’s team to a 98-34-6 (.732) record in his seven seasons leading both.  With both teams combined, Elliott holds an overall record of 329-139-41 (.646). In men’s soccer, Elliott is a five-time GSC Coach of the Year and three-time South Region Coach of the Year.

Elliott holds the NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and a USSF A License.

The Alexander Arellano Memorial Trophy is an award with a very special meaning.  Alex Arellano was a young man who touched the lives of many in the NPSL, so much that the league crafted an award in his memory. Alex, the middle son of Real San Jose owner Nick Arellano, passed away in 2012 at the age of 25.
