New Jersey Copa FC has a big weekend ahead of them, with a road trip to Greater Binghamton FC on Saturday, June 17th at 6:00 pm and a home game against the Electric City Shock SC on Sunday, June 18th at 7:00 pm.

“After a disappointing finish to top-of-the-table West Chester FC last weekend, with our first loss of the NPSL season, our guys are ready to get back out there,” said Head Coach Roberto Aguas. “This will be the first time we face Binghamton this season, and we tied Electric City earlier in the year when we traveled to their home in Scranton. Our players have been working hard all week in training, and are prepared to get back out there and grab six more points.”

New Jersey Copa FC, who currently sits at second in the Keystone Conference, is 4-1-1 for the 2017 season. Following their loss to rivals FC Motown in their U.S. Open Cup debut in May 10th, 2017, NJCFC went on an undefeated run for the next month before dropping their first of the NPSL season at top-ranked West Chester on June 10th, 2017.

“We are not a team that takes losing lightly,” said co-captain Raphael Araujo. “Being in second place, we use that as motivation every day at practice. We work hard day-in and day-out to constantly get better and to grow together as a team, and we feel ready for our big weekend ahead of us.”

Araujo, who is in his second year with NJCFC, will be stepping up his leadership role even more while goalkeeper and co-captain Matt Perrella will be away this weekend on a loan to second-tier NASL side Jacksonville Armada FC. A true offensive weapon in the final third of the field, Araujo had a standout season not only outdoors last summer for the team, but also for the recently-launched NJCFC Professional Futsal Team, where he was the leading scorer in NJCFC’s debut exhibition tournament at the US Futsal Northeast Regional Championships in February of 2017. For NJCFC this summer, Araujo has scored three goals in five games.

New Jersey Copa FC has five games left on their regular schedule, including the two this upcoming weekend. After they face off against Greater Binghamton FC on June 17th and Electric City Shock SC on June 18th, NJCFC will take on their cross-town rivals Clarkstown SC on June 25th at home (whom they stole a 1-0 win against earlier in the season), before facing BuxMont Torch at home on July 1st and finishing up the regular season away against Junior Lone Star FC on July 8th.
