The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Virginia Beach City FC forward Prince Idornigie’s July 9th goal against FC Frederick has been selected as the 2017 Staples Make More Happen Goal of the Year. The goal was selected by fans and supporters in an online voting process.

"I would like to thank God for his mercy and grace over me for giving me this opportunity,” Idornigie commented. “I also want to express my sincere appreciation and thanks to the NPSL for recognizing me with the Staples Make More Happen Goal of the Year Award. I am truly humbled and honored to receive it. I would especially like to commend my coaching staff, family, friends, teammates, and the supporters of Virginia Beach City FC and WVU Tech Athletics, who have so generously supported my efforts with their time by voting for me. I am deeply grateful for this honor. I ask that the community continue to support Virginia Beach City FC in advancing the quality of life for our youth."
Indornigie appeared in 60 matches over four seasons for WVU Tech, finishing with an impressive 13 goals and 13 assists.

The Durham, NC native was named a Third Team NAIA All-American in 2016 after earning NAIA National Championship All-Tournament team and River States Conference (RSC) First Team honors. He also earned Man of the Match honors at VBCFC on July 9th after helping his team to another win and a first-place finish in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.
