Temecula FC Defeats High Desert Elite FC 3-0 in Front of Massive Crowd
By Temecula FC
Temecula FC Quails eased past league newcomers High Desert Elite FC by winning 3-0 at Adelanto Stadium in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) on Saturday, with Tarek Nazzal scoring twice. A crowd of over 1,200 was present for the exciting match.
Two straight wins to start the season has the Quails feeling the season could go well, but there are 16 more matches to go. Temecula FC started the game with boos ringing in their ears from the home crowd, given the home team buzz, but Nazzal ended it with his name being sung loudly by the away fans after his first of two goals on the night.
Nazzal scored in the 39th and 66th minutes, with Jessi Piazza scoring in between for his first goal in a Temecula FC shirt. High Desert added a lot of pressure on the Quails, but could not find a way back into the game.
“High Desert and the city of Adelanto should be very proud of their first-ever home match,” Temecula FC owner Brandon Jantz commented. “The crowd was the largest and most vocal I’ve ever seen in the NPSL Southwest Conference and they have the whole community behind them. I think what they are building in Adelanto Stadium is something all minor league clubs would love to have.”
High Desert stay rooted at the bottom as the Quails move back to the top of the NPSL Southwest standings after the weekend’s results. Next up, Temecula FC face local rivals Riverside Coras on March 9th at 6:00 pm at Chaparral High School as Temecula looks to get their first-ever league win against Coras.
