Temecula FC and Riverside Coras Finish with 0-0 Draw

By Temecula FC

Both Temecula FC and Riverside Coras had a fantastic opportunity to boost their chances of a top-three finish in the National Premier League (NPSL) when they got together on Saturday at Chaparral High School. And neither could do it. In another heated Riverside Derby, the two played to a 0-0 draw that featured wasted chances and a number of  tough tackles.

In a match that saw Coras threaten much more, neither could find the breakthrough. Coras had little to deal with at the back while Brent Reis made some big saves for Temecula FC to keep it scoreless and earn Man of the Match honors.

The match was physical and intense, and it was even more so late in the first half.

With the second half played much tighter than the first, there was still a chance for either team to grab the winner, and it looked like Coras had it with a late effort just tipped over the bar by Reis. When the final whistle came, there was a feeling that both sides would have wanted to play on so someone could find a winner, but they had to settle for a point each.

Temecula FC’s next match is a tricky midweek trip up to Oxnard on Wednesday, March 13 while Riverside are off until they host Orange County FC on Sunday, March 17.
