The match started on time in an amazing atmosphere. The play was very heated and equally balanced with attacks in the first half with equal amounts of missed opportunities. It was full of excitement from the second the whistle blew to the very end.
Fans were on edge of their seats and it was definitely a nail-biter to the end.
ASC San Diego had multiple chances in the second half before ASLA capitalized on one of their breakaways as Angel Vazquez, an 18-year-old left back, scored with a striking left-footer from just inside the box. ASC San Diego kept the pressure on as they were looking for the equalizer. ASLA actually received a penalty in injury time, just minutes before the end of match, but Federico Bobadillo’s penalty was saved by the opposing goalkeeper.
Vazquez was named Man of the Match after scoring the game-winning goal.
