Denton Diablos FC Falls to Fort Worth Vaqueros FC 4-3
By Denton Diablos FC
Kicking off their inaugural campaign, the Denton Diablos played an explosive back-and-forth match against the Fort Worth Vaqueros in the first leg of the Chisholm Trail Clasico, a two-legged derby with the aggregate scoring winner taking home the coveted white leather and silver championship belt.
After having to relocate to a different venue after 4.5 inches of rain in 2.5 hours on match day was more than their natural grass pitch could handle.
In what turned out to be a high-scoring affair, the Diablos ultimately fell 4-3 to the Vaqueros, with the Diablos led by goals from their captain Sam Garza, midfielder Nicky Hernandez, and midfielder Jalen James.
The Lonestar Beer Man of the Match was Nicky Hernandez with one goal and 90 minutes played.
