Temecula FC Defeated by High Desert Elite FC 1-0

By Temecula FC

Temecula now has little chance of making the National Premier Soccer League playoffs.

They trail FC Arizona by 12 points for the last wild card slot with just six games left to play.  The Quails have a game in hand and face Arizona on the final day of the season. So for the Quails to earn six points more than FC Arizona is not impossible but is a huge task after the loss to High Desert on Saturday.

And even though head coach Austin Levins hasn’t given up hope on making the playoffs, the ‘Quails wouldn’t even be close without winning their final six matches and boosting their goal differential.

High Desert withstood the Quails attack in the first half which saw Nate DeRosa hit the post and come close on threeother attempts that went just wide. High Desert, who were just coming off their first home win and looked like a new team with a new desire, fought for every ball and showed a grit that got them through the first half with the score at 0-0.

Temecula FC came out slow in the second half and High Desert took advantage as 55th minute substitute  Sebastian Nolasco scored what proved to be the winning goal in the 67th minute. The Quails made a few subs as Angel Mora, Mario Cos, and Eddie Guerra came into the match but to little effect and High Desert walked away 1-0 winners.
