FC Baltimore Defeats FC Frederick 4-0

By FC Baltimore

The fifth installment of the Maryland Derby saw FC Baltimore walk away with a 4-0 win over FC Frederick.  The first half only saw Baltimore score one goal, and it was actually thanks to Frederick defender Jake Wilkinson.  In trying to pass back to his goalkeeper, Wilkinson popped it up and nestled it perfectly into the net.

The score remained 1-0 after the first 45 minutes.

The second half led off with a goal from Jake Dengler.  On a free kick set about 37 yards away, the center back buried an unbelievable ball to make it 2-0.  Goal number three came minutes later from teenager Ben Bender, his first of the season, in nearly his first action of the season. Goal number four came in the final ten minutes off a header from center back Kyle Saunderson. This was also Saunderson’s first on the year.

The win puts the Roons back into first place in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

The victory is also Baltimore’s sixth straight.  Baltimore now faces off against Charlottesville Alliance FC on Saturday at 6:00 pm.
