FC Baltimore Defeats Charlottesville Alliance FC 3-1
By FC Baltimore
FC Baltimore hosted Charlottesville Alliance FC Saturday night, and earned another positive victory, winning 3-1.
It was just like any other game this year for the Roons: a slow start and a strong finish. Charlottesville looked the better side in the first half, and even garnered the first goal of the evening. In the 28th minute, Jack Caldwell fired a superb shot from distance. Baltimore goalkeeper Craig Eichelberger had no chance to get to it, and Charlottesville saw themselves go up 1-0 early.
In the 42nd minute, the gift that keeps on giving in Jake Dengler drilled another free kick goal to tie things up at one.
This is the second straight game that Jake Dengler has scored a free kick goal for the Roons. It is his fourth of the season, which leads the team.
Then began the ever promising second half. Cody Albrecht scored his first Baltimore goal in the 62nd minute following some lovely buildup play, and Arion Sobers-Assue knocked in his second on the season just minutes later. The score stayed 3-1 and Baltimore once again picked up all three points, keeping themselves at the top of the table.
This is the sixth straight NPSL win for FC Baltimore, and the seventh overall. The team has certainly caught fire at the right time.
