ASC San Diego Midfielder Christian Enriquez Awarded 2019 NPSL Golden Ball
The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that ASC San Diego
midfielder Christian Enriquez has been awarded the 2019 NPSL Golden Ball. The selection was
made through online voting by teams, media members, fans, and supporters.
“I think any personal award received deserves gratitude and reflection,” Enriquez said. “I know I
wouldn’t be receiving this without my teammates and staff who have believed in me from the
beginning of this season. It’s a good feeling knowing the team is going far and individually, this
shows I’m taking steps in the right direction. Always a blessing when things like this happen
and there’s a lot of friends and family to thank for supporting me in playing the sport I love.”
The 20-year-old finished the 2019 NPSL season with 19 games played, 17 starts, seven goals,
and six assists.
“Christian is an exceptional talent,” ASC San Diego head coach Ziggy Korytoski said. “Along
with his soccer IQ, vision, and ability to manage the flow of a game, his ability with the ball to
change direction, stop, start, and accelerate is quicker than 95% of the players in our country. He
deserves every bit of this recognition as he truly made a positive impact on our success both on
the field and in the community throughout the year.”
The San Diego, CA native has spent time with the U-19 U.S. Men’s National Team and Portland
Timbers II. He played two seasons at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and joined ASC San Diego at
the beginning of 2019. His brother Sergio is a defender with ASC San Diego.
