Virginia Beach City FC Goalkeeper Christian Coulson Awarded 2019 Renegade GK NPSL Golden Glove

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Virginia Beach City FC
goalkeeper Christian Coulson has been awarded the 2019 Renegade GK NPSL Golden Glove.
The selection was made through online voting by teams, media members, fans, and supporters.

“The award itself is a really cool individual achievement, probably the top of the list in my
career,” Coulson said. “That being said, the credit can’t be all mine. I’ve got to thank the 10 guys playing in front of me week in and week out, the coaches, the media team for getting us the
publicity, and obviously all of the fans, friends, and family that took their time to vote.”

The Portsmouth, VA native finished the 2019 season with 32 saves, five goals allowed, five
clean sheets, and one assist.

“It’s a breath of fresh air to see Christian’s growth within a season,” Virginia Beach City FC
Head of Media Dante’ Dio said. “The hard work CJ put in over the offseason ultimately paid off
and it clearly showed throughout the 2019 season. Christian has truly made Virginia Beach City
FC proud.”

Coulson was a standout with the CSL Junkyard Dawgs as a youth, finishing as a VA State Cup
finalist twice. At Churchland High School, he was a three-year captain who received All-District
honors four times. Coulson graduated from Old Dominion University, where he won the
Conference USA championship twice in addition to making an appearance in the NCAA
Tournament’s second round twice.
