Georgia Storm Soccer Academy Joins the NPSL for the 2021 Season

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that Georgia Storm Soccer
Academy (Carrollton, GA) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will begin
competition in the East Region in 2021.

“I am very impressed with the strategy of this management team,” NPSL Managing Director
Cindy Spera said. “Their approach is to run the club as a sustainable business with a stable
foundation to grow upon.  They understand the culture and standards that exist in the NPSL and
will run a high-level professional organization. I'm looking forward to supporting their evolution
over next few years in the NPSL.”

The club is led by CEO Bill Rucker, COO Josh Bivens, and General Manager Stephen Bivens.

“While we were searching for our next step as a youth club, we decided that a senior team at the
top of the club would be ideal,” Stephen Bivens said. “We looked into several men’s team
options including the PDL, UPSL, and NPSL and after conducting enough research we decided
to apply to the NPSL. We chose the NPSL because of the reasonable cost, strong presence in the
southeast, and competitive level of play.”

Georgia Storm began by offering both youth recreational and competitive opportunities to
players in the Carroll County and Carrollton areas. In the past six years since its founding,
Georgia Storm has grown to encompass youth recreational, youth competitive, adult recreational,
adult competitive, and performance training as its core areas, as well as expanded its player
market to include both Douglas and Carroll counties as well as the cities of Carrollton,
Douglasville, and Villa Rica. With this growth, the club market now sees roughly 2,000 adult
and youth players in its market. At the beginning of 2020, Georgia Storm began building a
competitive, first-team for the club with former players from the club itself, from coaches in the
club, and from surrounding markets with former professional, semi-professional, and college
players.

“We are very excited to join the NPSL and hope to have a strong first season by reaching the
playoffs,” Stephen Bivens added. “We plan to recruit and build a strong core team of local
players and pull from our top youth players at the club to bring a strong inaugural squad to the
league.”

Home matches will be played at Grisham Stadium at Carrollton High School in Carrollton, GA.

Grisham Stadium can accommodate over 8,000 spectators, highlighted by premium seating for
over 1,400. The stadium also provides plenty of convenient access routes to restrooms, handicap
accessible seating, and large concession areas.

“We are very pleased to announce that Georgia Storm Soccer Academy is joining the NPSL,”
NPSL Director of Membership Development Dina Case said. “Georgia Storm brings a seasoned
ownership group with a strong history of developing successful youth clubs in the Georgia
market. We expect this will make them a successful NSPL club from the start and we look
forward to seeing them have a positive impact in their region.”
