OKC 1889 FC Joins the NPSL for the 2021 Season

The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) is proud to announce that OKC 1889 FC
(Oklahoma City, OK) has joined the league as an expansion team. The club will begin
competition in the South Region in 2021.

“The NPSL has been looking to expand into the Oklahoma City market for years, and we were
waiting for the right ownership group to emerge,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera
said. “We are pleased that we have found that fit in OKC 1889 FC. Oklahoma City is a key
market for us and a critical first step in solidifying the Heartland Conference.”

The club is led by Owners Dustin Hooker and Mark Moore.

“Our goal is to develop young men into outstanding people,” Hooker said. “We also want to
compete at a high level within a professional environment.”

Both Hooker and Moore are from Norman, OK and grew up playing soccer in the community.

Adam Kay will serve as the club’s head coach.

Kay played at FC Jazz Pori in Finland and is currently working on his UEFA “A” license. He is
the head men’s soccer coach at Southwestern Christian University and the Boys ECNL Director
at Oklahoma Celtic.

“Oklahoma City is a great city and has great fans that support local sports,” Hooker said. “The
Imps have been competing for the last five years and have established themselves as a strong
club with great potential to compete in year one.”
