2-2 Draw for Kingston Stockade FC and Boston City FC

By Kingston Stockade FC

Kingston Stockade FC and Boston City FC battled to a 2-2 draw on a hot Saturday afternoon in Revere, MA.  Scott Zobre got the ball rolling for Stockade FC on the road in the 36th minute as Vinny Colantuono’s hard work up front sent Zobre on a breakaway for a calm finish to give Stockade FC the lead.

Almost instantly, Boston City equalized as a long ball driven into the Stockade box was knocked down and slammed home past Dylan McDermott. The immediate response from Boston City was the first goal Stockade FC had surrendered during the 2021 campaign.

After the break, Stockade FC would provide a burst of energy and begin to dictate the pace of play.  After just five minutes of the second half, Zobre would add his second goal of the day to reestablish the Stockade lead.  Evan Mason played a gorgeous ball to spring Hugo Guerra into the box and provided the perfect cross for Zobre to tap in at the back post.

Again, Boston City would equalize almost immediately.  Joao Avila made a beautiful sliding tackle in the box but was unlucky to see the ball bounce off his arm and the penalty was given to level the match.

Stockade FC would provide the late dramatics as they pushed for a winner.  Richard Morris, Pierrick Gould, and Thomas Huleatt would create the spark off the bench and create a number of chances to take home all three points.  A few massive chances were missed in the final moments as Gould struck the bar, Morris sent a volley over top and Sam LaTorre forced a massive save from the Boston City keeper.

Stockade FC remains unbeaten at 2-0-1 and will return home next Saturday, May 29th, for a 6:00 pm matchup with Valeo FC at Dietz Stadium.

Zobre was named Man of the Match as his brace propelled Stockade FC to secure a road point in Boston.  His team-leading three goals on the year helped Stockade FC remain atop the North Atlantic Conference table.
