Late Goal Forces Kingston Stockade FC to Share Points in Hartford

By Stockade FC

A late equalizer from Hartford City forced Stockade FC to share the points on the road with Hartford City FC.

A back-and-forth first half saw only a few half chances for both sides, the better of which came to Stockade FC.  Hugo Guerra found his space on the left flank but fired a strike just wide.

Stockade FC began to develop a rhythm in the second half and create more dangerous play.  The deadlock was finally broken in the 62nd minute when pressure forced a Hartford City turnover and Richard Morris sprung to action.  Morris calmly tucked home the Stockade FC lead with his second goal in consecutive matches.

Ultimately, a late Hartford equalizer would spoil the night as a mishit cross caught Dylan McDermott off his line.

Both teams pushed for a late winner.  Chances were created because of tired legs, but in the end, no winner was in the cards for either side.

After a 3-0 win in Kingston, and a 1-1 draw in Hartford, Stockade FC retained the Wooden Shoe, the trophy created by the Dutch Guard and Agents of Hale.

Stockade FC remains undefeated at 3-0-3 (W-L-T) and returns to Dietz Stadium on Saturday June 19 when Boston City travels to Kingston.

Defender Christian Geddes was named Man of the Match.  The Iona outside back was brilliant on defense all night, limiting the chances for Hartford City and creating Stockade FC attacks through his buildup play.
