Dustin McCorkle Named General Manager for Lubbock Matadors

Dustin McCorkle was recently hired as the first GM of the Lubbock Matadors SC. He has
previous experience working countless years in both the NHL and NBA. He brings his expertise
to Lubbock to help the Matadors compete in the National Premier Soccer League.

McCorkle comes back to Lubbock to serve the community he loves. As a Texas Tech alumnus,
he wants to provide high-quality soccer entertainment for the community. His vision for the club
is evident.

“We will be all about the ABCs,” McCorkle said. “A is for the accountability; we will be
accountable to our community and the way we play. B is for the belief we’re going to believe in what we are doing to provide high-level play for the community. C is for competing; we will
compete on and off the field to be the best.”

McCorkle will lead the Matadors into their inaugural season in the NPSL, one of the most
prominent men’s soccer leagues in the United States with over 90 teams competing across the country.

It’s an exciting time for soccer in the Hub City,” Managing Partner Michael “Hitch” Hitchcock shared. “On behalf of the Matadors ownership group, we’re so excited to add one of the soccer industry’s top executives to lead our front office team. Dustin brings a great deal of sports management experience and expertise to the Matadors and will help us realize the incredible potential of minor league soccer in Lubbock.”

Lubbock Matadors Soccer Club are bringing the world’s game to the Hub City with an NPSL
team to play in May 2022. Led by a dynamic ownership group, the Matadors are excited to build
a soccer club that everyone in Lubbock and throughout the South Plains will be proud of and
support. The club is supporting Lubbock business by using Lubbock vendors and partnering
with local businesses as sponsors while providing local soccer players an opportunity to pursue
their soccer dreams. The Matadors are also providing opportunities for Texas Tech and Lubbock
Christian University students to gain valuable real-world sports management experience.

Matadors’ players will be positive role models in the community and ambassadors for growing
the game of soccer in LBK. The team will be built with the top local players and best players
from across the country who will move to Lubbock for the season. The Matadors will provide an
opportunity for local players to pursue their dream of playing soccer at the highest level while
