FC Brownsville achieved a 5-0 win over CF10 Houston FC thanks to an excellent performance in all sectors of the field and the unwavering support of their fans and supporters.

The trip from Houston to Brownsville and changes in the lineup of CF10 Houston FC could have been a factor in how they performed on the field.  They seemed to be tired, something that Brownsville took advantage of very well.

Brownsville had the most precise plays of the match and put goalkeeper Brandon Padilla to work, and he responded with a number of saves.

It was excellent team play that allowed FC Brownsville’s Jorge Adrian Amaya González to score in the 36th minute for the match’s first goal.  It didn’t take long for Cesar Armando Saldivar Robles to make it 2-0 in the 42nd minute, which closed out the scoring for the first half.

The second half started slowly, but in the 75th minute Padilla was unable to stop a shot made by Edson Silva, making the score 3-0.

CF10 Houston FC head coach Carlos Flores responded with speed and youth, giving academy players Andrés Acurero and Carlos Flores their debuts.  The duo play for CF10 Houston FC’s 2004/2005 youth team and are some of the youngest players on the NPSL squad.

FC Brownsville continued to attack and in the 87th minute Erwin Aldair Rodriguez Corona scored a goal to make it 4-0.  In the 92nd minute FC Brownsville scored a midfield goal with a powerful shot from Julián Espinoza to increase their lead to 5-0.

CF10 Houston FC received its first loss of the season after last week’s home draw against Coyotes FC.

CF10 Houston FC returns home to the British International School to play on Tuesday, May 24, against Corinthians FC of San Antonio.
