Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 Defeats New Orleans Jesters 3-1
By New Orleans Jesters
The New Orleans Jesters lost 3-1 to Jacksonville Armada FC U-23 on Saturday night at Pan American Stadium. New Orleans took an early lead but Jacksonville came storming back, scoring three unanswered goals to earn all three points.
New Orleans scored the opening goal in the 24th minute after working the ball into the box following a deep throw-in. Armada goalkeeper Dominic Domingues managed to clear the initial danger but Jesters striker Maxi Galizzi reacted quickest to the loose ball and turned it home from close range.
Jacksonville answered quickly, earning a penalty kick in the 31st minute. Forward Reed Davis drilled home off the inside of the post to make it 1-1.
The Jesters almost retook the lead on the hour mark after Galizzi found himself in behind the last defender but his strike from the right side of the box was saved.
A minute later Jacksonville scored the go-ahead goal, taking advantage of a giveaway in the defensive third. The ball was worked out to Mason Tunbridge who curled a shot past Graham from 20 yards out.
Ten minutes later Jacksonville put the game beyond doubt after another defensive miscue left forward Eduardo Coimbra in on goal. Coimbra made no mistake slipping his shot into the far corner of the goal.
The Jesters head to Florida next week for a pair of games. New Orleans will play Florida Roots on Thursday followed by a Saturday matchup against Tallahassee SC. Both games are available live on elevensports.com.
