New Orleans Jesters Defeat Tallahassee SC 6-2

By New Orleans Jesters

Maxi and Lucho Galizzi both recorded hat tricks as the New Orleans Jesters defeated Tallahassee SC 6-2 on Saturday night at Pan American Stadium.  New Orleans dominated the game from start to finish but the story of the evening was the remarkable performance of both Galizzi brothers.

Maxi Galizzi’s hat trick was his first for the club and moved him to a team-leading nine goals for the season.  It was also Lucho Galizzi’s first hat trick for the Jesters as he moved on to four goals this year.

The Jesters opened the scoring in the 18th minute after defender Harvey Reid drove a deep crossfield pass to midfielder Victor Domingues.

Domingues swept in an early cross to the near post and Lucho Galizzi finished at the near post.

New Orleans doubled their lead in the 39th minute as the Galizzi brothers combined for the second goal.  Lucho Galizzi crossed to the back post and Maxi Gallizzi volleyed home, executing the finish perfectly.

In the 44th minute Lucho Galizzi slotted home a right-footed finish to make it 3-0.  Then in stoppage time at the end of the first half Maxi Gallizzi cut inside the last defender and lifted an elegant chip over the goalkeeper to make it 4-0 at the break.

Five minutes into the second half Mateus Bitencourt smashed home a goal for Tallahassee to make it 4-1 but moments later Maxi Galizzi replied with a deft right-foot finish to notch his third goal of the game.

In the 73rd minute Lucho Galizzi completed his hat trick as he ran onto a pass down the left side and slotted the ball home, rounding out the goals for both the Galizzi brothers and the Jesters.

The New Orleans Jesters return home next Saturday night to play Southern States SC.  Kickoff is set for 7:30 pm.
