CF10 Houston FC once again showed that they are strong as visitors.  They certainly were not uncomfortable against Austin United FC, which could not decipher the tactical approach of head coach Carlos Flores.

It was a game dominated by the visitors who time and again were moving the ball from one side of the field to the other, trying to attract the attention of the Austin United FC defense.  In the 40th minute Ellington Fuller beat the opposing goalkeeper to make it 1-0 in favor of CF10 Houston FC.

It should be noted that Austin’s offense was nullified by the extraordinary marking of the visiting defense and the maturity of goalkeeper Rodrigo Lazo.

Thanks to a corner kick, Adeyemi Ayodele took advantage of the counter shot to make the score 2-0 in the 55th minute.  This thrilled the supporters who made the trip to the Texas capital.

However, Austin’s Theo Givens countered with a goal of his own in the 81st minute.  Austin threw themselves forward in search of the tying goal but the strong defense of CF10 Houston FC prevented any change to the score line.  In the end CF10 Houston FC finished with a 2-1 win in their last away game of the regular season.

CF10 Houston FC will close the season at the British International School of Houston on July 9.  They will face off against FC Brownsville who defeated Houston 5-0 on May 21.  Flores will look for his team to achieve victory to bring a successful conclusion to the regular season.
