The last game of the season between CF10 Houston FC and FC Brownsville turned into a real battle as both teams put their best men on the pitch.

Although CF10 Houston FC had no hope of reaching the playoffs, they did not want to be a stepping stone for the visitors so they went for the victory.

The first goal came from FC Brownsville.  Forward Jesus Omar Doria set up forward Carlos Acevedo who headed it with forcefulness to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.  The heat was intense, and the referee granted a break in the 30th minute.  CF10 Houston FC reorganized themselves, and the results were clear.  Midfielder Ellington Fuller made a tremendous run down the left flank and scored the equalizer.  The halftime score remained at 1-1.

In the second half, the speed of Doria and Acevedo continued to be the strong point for FC Brownsville.  CF10 Houston FC had opportunities of their own, but Brownsville scored two quick goals in succession to make it 3-1.

CF10 Houston FC seemed to have lost control of the midfield, and Brownsville midfielder Jorge Adrian Amaya Gonzalez took advantage for a 4-1 lead.  The Houston side led by Carlos Flores did not stop looking for a goal but it proved to be too late.

CF10 Houston lost in their final regular season match, but it remains a lesson for future seasons. Flores expressed pride in his players who gave everything on the field of play and recognized that they played well, but they paid dearly for the mistakes in the second half.
