0-0 Draw for West Chester United SC and PA Classics

By West Chester United SC

West Chester United SC opened their 2023 NPSL season versus PA Classics in a temporary home after their parent club decided to have their turf field replaced.  Playing at United Sports Training Center in nearby Downingtown, PA under clear skies and cool air, both sides worked through early season jitters to finish even with no score.

Just before halftime, the PA Classics goalkeeper had to come out of the box to head the ball away, and West Chester nearly tallied off the rebound with a long shot that went wide.

Neither team created a solid chance with shots high, wide or easily handled by the keepers.  The best chance came from West Chester in the 73rd minute.  Classics keeper Leo Lopez made the best save of the night to help PA Classics split the points.

West Chester United heads to Scranton to take on Electric City Shock next Friday, May 19th in a rematch of the 2022 conference semifinal.

PA Classics have their home opener versus Torch FC on Sunday May 21st at Spooky Nook Sports Center in Manheim, PA.
