By Kingston Stockade FC

Kristian Shkreli’s first-half goal wasn’t enough as Kingston Stockade FC fell to the New York Shockers in their first defeat of the 2023 NPSL season.

Stockade FC would look lively early on as Daniel D’Ippolito would find Shkreli in space inside the box to cut inside and beat the Shockers goalkeeper for a 1-0 lead.

In the 25th minute, the Shockers would find their answer as Wisdom Ishaya found himself with an open net after an error at the back.

In the 72nd minute, the Shockers would go down to 10 men after Pedro Espindola received his second yellow card after a tackle on Joey Dolan.

Stockade FC would begin to pump numbers forward in order to look for a winner with the man advantage.  While pushing numbers into the attack, Stockade FC would be caught on the counter. This time, Flippo Bellu would round Dylan McDermott and take a 2-1 lead.

The Shockers would add their third goal of the night as Ishaya converted a penalty in the dying minutes of the match.

Stockade FC falls to 6-1-2 on the year and will travel to Syracuse in the regular season finale on July 8th.

Stockade FC returns to Tenney Stadium on Saturday July 15th to host the North Atlantic Conference championship match.
