Moises Orozco Named NPSL National Player of the Week

Oxnard Guerreros FC forward Moises Orozco has been selected as the third NPSL National Player of the Week for the 2018 NPSL season.

“It is special,” Orozco said. “Every award means a lot, and it was even better because I was able to achieve this award with my hometown team.  I just want the team to continue to get better each week.”

The Oxnard, CA native scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 result against FC Arizona on March 31, 2018.  It was Orozco’s first-ever NPSL goal and also the first win of the 2018 NPSL season for the Guerreros.

“Moi represents the Oxnard player,” Oxnard Guerreros FC head coach Juan Florez added. “He is gifted, a hard worker, and he is a dreamer. Moi has played at the highest level and knows he can be an impact there by polishing off a few things. He is pursuing this aggressively and understands the leadership role he has in the team.”

Orozco has seen success at the professional level for Tigres II in Mexico and Ararat Yerevan in Armenia.  He made 29 appearances for the Armenian side, tallying five goals and two assists during his time overseas.

The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country.  It is awarded every week during the regular season.
