FC Arizona forward Cesar Mexia has been selected as the second NPSL National Player of the Week for the 2018 NPSL season.
“I’m very happy to be presented this award,” Mexia commented. “This shows a commitment from the whole team. I want to thank my coaches and teammates for making this possible.”
Mexia finished with a hat trick in a 3-3 draw with ASC San Diego on March 24, 2018.
“We are extremely proud of Cesar for all his leadership, hard work, and accomplishments from last year and so far this year,” FC Arizona Owner/GM Scott Taylor added. “This is a special group of guys this season.”
The Sonora, Mexico native led FC Arizona in goals in 2017. He played professionally at Mexican side Dorados Sinaloa and is the all-time leading goalscorer at Paradise Valley Community College.
The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country. It is awarded every week during the regular season.
