Duluth FC Advances to NPSL North Conference Final with 5-1 Win over Minnesota TwinStars FC

Duluth FC hosted Minnesota TwinStars FC on Wednesday, July 12 in the NPSL North Conference Semifinals, winning 5-1 at Public Schools Stadium to make it three wins in three games against the TwinStars this season.

The night started tense for Duluth after the TwinStars, despite early chances for Duluth, scored the opening goal thanks to former Mr. Soccer Minnesota Sidike Jabateh.  A response came soon after as Tyler Limmer scored his ninth goal of the season to make it 1-1.

Kostya Domaratskyy scored on a penalty kick in extra time to give Duluth its first lead of the game going into halftime.  Despite a mixed start, the BlueGreens had a lead and momentum on their side.

A red card for the TwinStars at the start of the second half kicked off a strong 45 minutes for Duluth.  Andres Solares and Felipe Santos both scored to extend the lead to 4-1.  

Limmer scored another goal via a penalty kick to make it two goals and one assist on the night.  The BlueGreens are now undefeated in 14 games in all competitions this season.  Duluth will host 2022 North Conference Champions Med City FC on July 15 in the conference final.
