Preview: Pablo Marisi Leads Naples United FC into South Region Tournament

Naples United FC forward Pablo Marisi was one of the league’s prolific goalscorers in 2023, scoring 14 goals in just 10 games.  

The striker finished third in the race for the Capelli Sport 2023 NPSL Golden Boot, helping his team achieve dominance in the Sunshine Conference along the way.  

Marisi is pleased with his team’s success this season and is looking forward to the opportunity to earn even more hardware.

“We are very happy to have achieved our first objective, which was to reach this stage with the possibility of being local,” Marisi said. “We are proud to represent Naples United FC, and we will try to take this team as far as possible.”

Marisi is looking forward to having the South Region Tournament in Naples this weekend.

“The level of the four teams is very good, without a doubt they are going to be very difficult matches,” Marisi added. “Playing at home is a great motivation for us, and we will give our best to reach the next step.  We want to win the South Region and next week be among the top four teams in the competition.”

Naples United FC (9-1-0) will face the Southeast Conference’s Apotheos FC (6-1-3) on Friday, July 21 at 8:00 pm, while the Gulf Coast Conference’s Southern States Soccer Club (7-1-2)  takes on Lone Star Conference’s Brownsville NPSL (8-2-1) in the day’s first match at 5:00 pm.  

The winner of this tournament will advance to the NPSL National Semifinals on July 29.
