Host Hickory FC played Port City FC to a 2-2 draw in front of an energetic home crowd of 2,250 at the Helen & Leonard Moretz Stadium at Lenoir-Rhyne University on Saturday, May 25.

David Guevara opened the scoring for the home team in the 22nd minute of an assist from Pablo Obrador following a Hickory FC corner kick.  Port City evened the score in the 38th minute on a goal from Caden Pierce on the assist from Aidan Payne.

The second half saw Port City take the lead late on a free kick by William Fatzinger at the end of regular time.  But the home team rallied in extra time with local favorite Jorge Jimenez providing late heroics, finding the net for the tying goal in the 94th minute to avoid a loss.

With the tie, Hickory FC sits at 10 points in conference play after four matches played.  Hickory will host Greenville United in another conference match on Saturday, June 1.
