DMV Elite FC Defeats Frederick FC 4-0 in Mid-Atlantic Conference Action

After suffering its first loss in its inaugural NPSL game against Frederick FC,  the coaching staff of DMV Elite FC knew they had to do a complete overhaul of the game plan they used in that game.  The odds were further stacked against DMV Elite FC as their bench was devoid of their head coach Gustavo Onaidia, who was serving a multi-game suspension.  DMV Elite FC would be led by assistant coach Bradley Routh as the team rolled to a 4-0 victory over FC Frederick.

“My mindset tonight was to just rely on my coaching experience at the club and high school level,” Routh said. “I have closely been watching Coach Gustavo and how he prepares and coaches the team, and I just added my own touches to it.  The talent on our team makes it a smooth transition from assistant to head coach.  I believe if you let the players know you trust them and you have their backs, they will give you their all.  And that’s exactly what they did tonight.  All the credit goes to the players.”

DMV Elite FC’s potent attack was buoyed by braces from Bada Sady and Fabian Armhof.  Sady scored in the 10th and 83rd minutes, while Armhof scored in the 15th and 75th minutes.

“I wouldn’t say we had to do much different tactically,” Routh concluded. “We got our injured players healthy and we were at full strength.  When we played them first, we had some key injuries, and it was our first game playing together.  This game we were healthy and confident.  When we are at full strength and confident in our game, we are very hard to beat.  We are starting to really understand each other and hit our stride.”

This game is a very important win for DMV Elite FC as it keeps its two-game home winning streak alive and psychologically lets the team know that if they play their best, they can turn losses into wins in subsequent games.
