By New Orleans Jesters

The New Orleans Jesters lost 2-1 to Tallahassee SC on Wednesday at Pan American Stadium.  The Jesters fought back to tie the game after falling behind in the first half, but could not find an answer to Tallahassee’s second goal.  New Orleans finished the game with ten men after defender Jair Arita’s second yellow card saw him sent to the stands.

Tallahassee took the lead in the 25th minute through Ethan Stewart who finished from close range after the ball was clipped in from the right side.

New Orleans fought back and came close to equalizing in the 29th minute, but forward Sheldon Green saw his glancing header flash wide of the target.

Ricardo Gomez leveled for the Jesters in the 36th minute after a nice piece of individual skill. Gomez slipped past his defender at the edge of the box then fired a low shot into the bottom left corner to make it 1-1.

Tallahassee almost equalized with two chances right before halftime, but goalkeeper Juan Pablo Chavez kept it level with a pair of excellent saves.

Mo Guebre headed Tallahassee back in front in the 67th minute to make it 2-1.

New Orleans almost scored in the 75th minute, but Robert Lagoa’s flicked header was tipped over the bar by the goalkeeper.

The Jesters finished the match with ten players after defender Jair Arita was issued a red card in the 85th minute for a second bookable offense.

New Orleans continues the NPSL season this Saturday night on the road versus Pensacola FC.\
