Temecula FC Falls to Orange County FC 3-1
Orange County FC took on Temecula FC at Orange Great Park Soccer Stadium on Sunday night, and beat their rivals 3-1 in their second meeting of the season.
OCFC controlled possession of the ball and the tempo of the match early on, and created a few good scoring chances.
Temecula FC goalkeeper Ben Chamberlin had to be alert to keep OCFC from scoring early on. The only goal in the first half came from a free kick 35 yards out as OCFC swung in a ball and an unmarked OCFC player tapped in from five yards out, giving OCFC the 1-0 lead. The rest of the first half was much of the same with a few chances for both sides but none being converted. The first half ended 1-0 in favor of the hosts.
Just two minutes into the second half, OCFC were awarded a penalty kick and Dakota Collins converted to make the score 2-0 in favor of OCFC. Temecula FC made their first sub as Teague Anderson came into the match and made an instant impact, putting OCFC’s defense under pressure and creating a few chances. It wasn’t until ten minutes later when Sergio Lopez scored for Temecula FC to cut the lead in half.
The scoring was not over though as a long ball in behind the Temecula FC defense saw Dakota Collins round Chamberlin to score OCFC’s third goal and wrap up the points.
