Jackson Lions FC faced FC Monmouth in a July 6th match at Donovan Catholic HS.

Jackson’s Gabriel Ganzer scored in the left corner of the net, putting the Lions up 1-0 in just the fifth minute.  Just three minutes later, Miguel Diaz tallied his first goal of the season to put the Lions up 2-0.

After the third corner of the match in the 12th minute, Rutgers standout Ian Abbey curled the ball from the line of the penalty box, giving Jackson the 3-0 lead.  In the 29th minute, Abbey collected his brace after an assist from Ganzer.  This increased Jackson’s lead to 4-0.  One minute later, captain Dave Nigro scored the fifth goal of the evening.  Ganzer slotted yet another assist.

In his first three games with the Lions, Ganzer has been involved in nine goals.  Looking for a tenth, a shot from Ganzer went wide in the 38th minute.

After a long shot in the 45th minute, the referee called for halftime with no time added on.

The game came to a close as a 5-0 win for Jackson Lions FC.   They now play FC Motown on the road at Drew University in the conference playoffs next week.
