Hershey FC Falls to West Chester United SC 4-0
Storms loomed as the game started and would come quickly just like the opening goal for West Chester United that was scored by Travis Cantrell 13 minutes in as he drove it to the near post for the finish.
Hershey FC tried to bounce back when Dom Francis drove into the 18-yard box and was taken to the ground by one of West Chester’s center backs.
Twenty-four minutes in lightning crashed and the game was suspended for 60 minutes until it was able to be resumed. The play was very defensive by Hershey FC and in the waning minutes of the half West Chester scored a goal with the foot of Evan Vare.
After the half, Hershey FC made some adjustments and dominated a large part of the second half but allowed two goals on transitional play in the 50th and 86th minutes of the game to end the game 4-0.
Head Coach Dustin Bixler had a number of thoughts on the game.
“It was a good learning experience. Obviously you want to win the game but with only four trainings under our belt and all the players coming in just a week and a half ago, we had some really good moments to build from going forward.”
