Michigan Rangers FC Defeats FC Pride 2-0 in Central States Conference Action

On Friday evening, Michigan Rangers FC returned to NPSL action with a spirited performance against FC Pride at Davenport University’s Main Campus.  The match, which kicked off at 7:00 pm, featured a dynamic second half that saw the home side secure a valuable result.

After a tightly contested first half, the breakthrough came in the 49th minute.  Vianney Durand opened the scoring for the Rangers with a composed finish, capitalizing on a well-timed assist from Domenic Baumann.  The goal energized the hosts, who continued to press forward with confidence.

Just six minutes later, Durand struck again.  In the 55th minute, he doubled the Rangers’ lead with his second goal of the night, showcasing his clinical edge and determination in front of goal.

The pair of quick goals proved decisive, and despite late pressure from FC Pride Elite, the Rangers maintained their composure and defensive solidity to see out the result.

“We were very pedestrian in the first half,” Rangers Head Coach Stuart Collins said. “Never really got out of second gear.  We had an honest conversation at half time and the boys responded really well.  Good result against a well coached and very organized FC Pride team. All the best to them this year.” 

The final score was 2-0 in favor of the Michigan Rangers.  The Rangers play Gio’s Lions SC Chicago on Sunday, May 25th at 7:00 pm at Davenport University.
