It was a rainy, gloomy night in Toms River as Jackson Lions FC welcomed Players Development Academy to Donovan Catholic for their fourth match of the NPSL season. Coming off back-to-back road losses against FC Motown and WC Predators, the squad needed a response. What they delivered was a goal-soaked masterclass.

The night exploded into life in just the sixth minute. Jack Krongold picked up the ball nearly 40 yards from goal, took a touch, and ripped a thunderbolt into the top corner. It was an instant goal-of-the-season contender that ignited the home crowd.
Two minutes later, the Lions struck again — this time on the break. Joel Quist slipped in Ian Abbey, who slotted it home coolly for 2-0. In the 19th minute, James Watson added a third, pouncing on a failed clearance from a corner to push the score line further out of reach.

By the 33rd minute, Quist had one of his own, latching onto a clever through ball from Jules Anderson and finishing with class. PDA briefly responded just moments later, capitalizing on a spilled save from returning goalkeeper Rafa Ponce de Leon to grab one back.
But the Lions didn’t flinch. Joey Kurak, in his breakout performance, scored his first two goals for the club in the 40th and 54th minutes, earning Man of the Match honors for his composure and finishing on a big night.
Despite the downpour, a loyal group of supporters braved the elements to witness the Lions secure a dominant and much-needed win. It was a rainy night — but a clear reminder of what this team is capable of.
