Minnesota Blizzard FC Defeats Joy AC 1-0

Minnesota Blizzard FC stayed undefeated at home this season with a 1-0 win over Joy AC on Wednesday night.  

The Blizzard and Joy AC battled hard in the first half, and there were plenty of opportunities to go around.  The Blizzard rattled the crossbar.  Phil Caputo almost netted one for Joy, but Blizzard goalkeeper Danny Burgos was up to the task.  

In the second half it was much of the same, but the Blizzard broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute.  A nice pass from Max Just to Carter Hermanson, who beat his defender and crossed it to an onrushing Cian McGoey, got the Blizzard on the board.  That was McGoey’s fourth goal of the season.  

The Blizzard’s strong team defense held off the Joy AC attack, and the game ended in a 1-0 win for the Blizzard.  The Blizzard move to fourth place in the North Conference with a 2-0-1 record at home.  The Blizzard will take on Duluth FC on Saturday, June 14.
