Flower City Union Defeats Buffalo Stallions 4-0 in Great Lakes Conference Play

Flower City Union earned its first victory of the season Saturday night with a 4-0 win over the Buffalo Stallions in Great Lakes Conference action.

The opening half was evenly contested, but Flower City Union broke through late in the first half when Adam Grover found the back of the net in the 43rd minute to give the visitors a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Flower City Union pulled away in the second half with three goals in a seven-minute span. Rodrigo Gomes de Almeida doubled the lead in the 70th minute before Franklin Safari added another just two minutes later in the 72nd minute.

Myles Parker capped off the scoring in the 76th minute as Flower City Union secured the 4-0 result.

Flower City keeper Christian Burkhart earned the shutout in goal.

With the win, Flower City Union improves to 1-2 on the season, while Buffalo falls to 0-3.

The Stallions will look to earn their first win of the season when they host Erie Commodores FC on Saturday, May 30 at 7:00 pm.
