Erie Commodores FC Tops Buffalo Stallions, Improve to 5-0 Record

Erie Commodores FC remained unbeaten Saturday night, using a dominant second-half performance to defeat the Buffalo Stallions 5-1 in Great Lakes Conference action.

Buffalo struck first midway through the opening half when Max Voyer headed home a long throw-in from Jean Kagde, marking the first goal conceded by Erie all season.

The Commodores responded just before halftime.  On a free kick from the left side, Will Perry delivered a curling ball into the penalty area that found the head of Julian Tovar, who nodded home the equalizer to send the teams into the break tied 1-1.

Erie took control after halftime, scoring four unanswered goals.  David Citron led the charge with a hat trick, while Alvaro Planas added another as the Commodores pulled away for the convincing victory.

With the win, Erie improves to 5-0 on the season, while Buffalo drops to 0-4.

The Commodores return to action on Saturday, June 6 when they host the Stallions in a rematch. Buffalo will look to rebound on Wednesday, June 3 when it travels to face Rochester NY FC Academy.
