Alex Guadron Named NPSL National Player of the Week
Little Rock Rangers forward Alex Guadron has been selected as the 12th NPSL National Player of the Week for the 2018 NPSL season.
“I am so happy to win this award, and also to be able to help the team to stay on track to finish the season strong,” Guadron commented. “I will keep working to do better things and give our team the best chance to win.”
Guadron scored four goals in a 4-3 win over Demize NPSL.
“Alex has worked really hard in training to become the goal scorer we all knew he was capable of becoming before the season started,” Little Rock Rangers head coach Will Montgomery added. “He had to get accustomed to the speed of play of the league, as well as our specific style of play. He scored the week before in St. Louis, so we were expecting him to have a breakout performance soon. However, we didn’t think it would be the very next game against the Demize NPSL. He is a pure goal scorer, with the ability to score goals with both of his feet. I’m confident he’ll continue to score many more in our upcoming games.”
Guadron, who last played at Arizona’s Yavapai College, is a newcomer to the Rangers this season. He has five goals from four starts and 355 minutes of play this season.
The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country. It is awarded every week during the regular season.
