Jacksonville Falls 4-2 to Palm Beach

The Jacksonville Armada FC met Palm Beach United for the first time in franchise history Saturday evening in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. The match ended 4-2 in favor of Palm Beach, after six goals totaled by both sides in the second half.

The matchup was Jacksonville’s third road match of the season and fifth match overall in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).

The teams found themselves scoreless at halftime, despite a few attempts by the Armada FC.

Palm Beach was the first to break the deadlock only eight minutes into the second half.

Goalkeeper Aleksander Gogić was lured outside of the box while United’s Brandon Joseph-Buadi snuck around to tuck the ball into the net.

It was not until the 65th minute when Jacksonville got on the board. Camilo Portilla crossed in the ball to Yuma in front of the net, who was easily able to tap it in.

Palm Beach went into the lead again two minutes later with a goal by Sebastian Andreassen.

The second equalizer came when Joshua Castellanos set up Ciarán Kilduff with a header in front of the net, and Kilduff tapped it in to make it 2-2 in the 79th minute.

United then snatched the lead again in the 84th minute with a goal by Thilo Wilke, before Joseph-Buadi added the final goal in stoppage time with his brace.

Next the Armada FC will travel to South Florida again for a reunion with Miami United FC on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The match was originally scheduled for May, but was pushed back due to severe weather. It will be the first meeting between the teams in the NPSL season and comes after the Armada FC fell to Miami in the Third Round of the U.S. Open Cup.
