FCM Portland Defeats OSA FC 3-1

FCM Portland got off to yet another slow start, letting OSA FC get off the first few attacks at goal and some early corner kicks.  After 15 minutes, FCMP got themselves organized and started controlling possession of the ball.  FCMP continued the attack when their first break came at the 24th minute as Freddie Braun followed up on a missed shot by Christian Thyron.  The next goal came 12 minutes later as a set piece taken by Steven Evans is headed by Thyron into the corner, just out of the reach of the OSA keeper.  Halftime would see FCM Portland with a 2-0 lead over  OSA.

The second half was much of the same.  FCM Portland failed on a few early attempts but continued a majority of possession.  OSA got their first break as FCM Portland’s keeper mishit an offsides dead ball just outside the 18-yard box, which landed at the feet of OSA’s striker.  He immediately took a the long shot over the FCM keeper, who was out of position, and scored.

Momentum changed in OSA’s favor for the next 20 minutes as they continued to press numbers in hopes of getting the equalizer.  OSA continued with their possession until a Portland counterattack was finished by Steven Evans, chipping the OSA keeper at the 18-yard line to make it 3-1.  OSA never gave up and fought to the final minute, but the game finished as a 3-1 win for FCM Portland.
