The Miami FC 2 Uses Strong Second Half to Down Palm Beach United 4-1
The Miami FC 2 was back at home, after a long four-match road trip, to host Palm Beach United. After a tightly contested first half, the Miami FC 2 breezed past a feisty Palm Beach side to win the match 4-1.
The first half saw MFC 2 control possession throughout, trying to break down Palm Beach United’s defensive shell.
MFC 2’s first chance of the match came in the 13th minute when Jeff Michaud fired a solid shot from distance that was pushed away by the keeper. Dylan Mares swooped in for the rebound attempt but his shot found the post.
The young Palm Beach side hit back 20 minutes in to the match. The 23rd minute saw Daniel Vega come up with a great save to keep the match even, but one minute later a defensive mishap gave Palm Beach a 1v1 chance that was put away by Roberto Kachan, giving his team an early 1-0 lead.
The Miami FC 2 wasted no time striking back, getting the equalizer just a minute later. Don Smart found room down the right flank and fired in a cross that was finished off by Darío Suárez.
The Orange and Blue would continue to press the Palm Beach backline but eventually went into the half tied at 1-1.
It would be a tale of two halves as the Miami FC continued to control the match but found its finishing touch late on.
The floodgates would open for MFC 2 in the 73rd minute. Recent sub Sean McFarlane launched in a long throw-in that was headed down by Kris Tyrpak. Chávez would pounce on the ball and slot it home to put the Miami FC 2 up 2-1.
10 minutes later, another substitute, Shawn Chin tore down the right flank and picked out a streaking Tyrpak in the middle of the box for an easy finish and increase the advantage to 3-1.
In the dying moments of the match, Chávez would find the back of the net again after jumping on a poor clearance by an exhausted Palm Beach defender to make the score 4-1.
The Miami FC 2 would walk away with a convincing 4-1 victory and three more points in the tightly contested Sunshine Conference standings.
The Orange and Blue stays at home next week and welcomes Storm FC to Bobcat Field Wednesday, June 20 at 7:00 pm. Get your ticket now at MiamiFC.com or by calling 844-MIAMIFC!
