Palm Beach United Falls to Naples United FC 2-0
Palm Beach United played a must-win game versus Naples United FC on a beautiful Saturday night in Palm Beach Gardens. Palm Beach would need to bounce back from the Miami FC 2 defeat and come away with three points Saturday to give them a chance at making the playoffs. Naples defeated Palm Beach 4-2 earlier in the season.
Palm Beach were able to put some pressure on the opposition and get some opportunities on goal in the first 15 minutes. Naples handled the pressure well at times and made it tough to build as the game went on. In the 43rd minute Palm Beach had a lapse in organization and let a player drift in between the lines. He was able to find the left winger, who finished to the far post shot.
Palm Beach would be down 1-0 at the half.
Going into the second half Palm Beach instructed their players to forget about the uncontrollables and simply play their game. As the second half began, Palm Beach started to play more out of the back and created many chances to score. Unfortunately luck wasn’t on their side. Instead Palm Beach had an error that set them back another goal.
With a couple more chances created for PBU, they just couldn’t buy a goal and the score would finish at 2-0. It was a setback for Palm Beach, but the only thing they can do is continue believing and looking forward to the next match on Wednesday versus Boca Raton FC.
