Khalid Arramdani Named NPSL National Player of the Week
East Bay FC Stompers forward Khalid Arramdani has been selected as the 14th NPSL National Player of the Week for the 2018 NPSL season.
“I am blessed to win this award for the second time, the last coming in 2015,” Arramdani commented. “I just want to do my best to help the Stompers make it to the top. I believe our team has what it takes to make a strong playoff push if we are able to make it in. I owe it all to my teammates and the club who believe in me to get the job done.”
Arramdani scored four goals in a 6-1 win over Napa Valley 1839 FC on June 16.
“Khalid is a pacey striker who fits well in to our system because we know how to play to his strengths,” East Bay FC Stompers GM Billy Forte added. “We signed him in 2013 at the age of 19 and have watched him blossom in to a premier goal scorer in our area. His speed is hard to match even at the pro ranks as the San Jose Earthquakes found out in 2015 in a preseason scrimmage. I am amazed that the professional coaches haven’t picked up his value yet. Everybody needs a goal scorer and Arramdani has a knack at sniffing the back of the net. He has developed over the years to have the ability to find his teammates as well. I am glad to see him receive this honor for the second time.”
The Berkane, Morocco native was a standout for Cañada College in 2013, registering 25 goals and five assists. In 2015, he joined the East Bay FC Stompers and scored 11 goals and four assists in eight appearances. He has spent time in training camp and preseason with both the San Francisco Deltas and Sacramento Republic.
He has scored five goals this season but has a total of 23 career goals in league play.
The winner of this national honor is determined by a vote of media members from across the country. It is awarded every week during the regular season.
